Easy After School Snacks to Keep Your Kids Full Until Dinner

These three easy after school snacks are healthier (healthy-ish?) and will put a smile on your kiddos faces when they walk through the door from school. Easy enough anyone can make them!

Apple Nachos

Ingredients
  

  • 2 apples, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 tbsp nut butter
  • 1/4 cup melted chocolate chips
  • 1-2 tbs shredded coconut
  • other toppings as desired (nuts, seeds, sprinkles)

Instructions
 

  • Using a large plate or small platter, arrange your thinly sliced apple slices
  • Microwave nut butter for 8-10 seconds, then using a spoon, drizzle the apple slices with the nut butter
  • Drizzle apples with melted chocolate and top with coconut and other desired toppings. Enjoy!

Pizzadillas

Cook Time 10 mins
Servings 2

Ingredients
  

  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 10 slices pepperoni
  • marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large frying pan or griddle to 400F.
  • Lightly brown your tortillas on both sides for 3 minutes or so
  • Place 1 browned tortilla on the pan, sprinkle with cheese. Top with evenly spaced pepperoni and top again with cheese. Place 2nd browned tortilla on top, cook 2 min. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melty
  • Remove from pan and use a knife or pizza cutter to cut into 4 wedges. Serve hot with warmed marinara sauce

Snack Plate

Servings 2

Ingredients
  

  • cut veggies for dipping
  • mixed nuts
  • berries, cuties, grapes
  • pretzels or crackers
  • pickles, olives
  • other misc. items you'd like to use up
  • hummus, guacamole or ranch for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Arrange everything nicely on plate or platter
  • Use small ramekins or dipping bowls for dressing, ranch, hummus or any other item you need to keep dry
